I made a cheesecake all by myself.  Let me just say it again, I made a cheesecake.  Who ever said I wasn’t a baker?  Apparently, it is my new calling!  For Valentine’s Day my wonderful husband cooked me up this fantastic feast .  In turn I made him a surprise cheesecake.

It is true, the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!

Turn It Up for TURNIPS

This great passage about turnips comes from the Joy of Cooking.  I personally had no idea that I loved turnips until last year when they came in our CSA box.  I probably would not serve them raw to children but who knows what will happen when I have kids.  For now, we cook them with brown sugar which is what got me turned on to the turnips.  They sort of remind me as a cross between carrots and potatoes with a some what spicy kick.  Below there are recipes for my original turnip dish and a new one I whipped up the last time we got turnips from our CSA, which was probably in November and I some how did not post this recipe then.
